The Sudbury YMCA has a long history of providing a gymnastics program to area residents (picture on left from 1940's). In 1978 a restructuring of the YMCA recreational gymnastics program is started by Bob Simon and Della Reid. 30 participants are enrolled in the initial recreational program. By the early 1980's it expands to 100 participants and an advanced level program is started.
